Webhelp, the multi-national business process outsourcing and consultancy company with headquarters in Paris, is recruiting 1,000 new roles across Portugal as it looks to ramp up its presence in the country.

Recruitment is focused on customer and technical support roles, particularly for individuals with aptitude in French, English, German and Nordic languages. However, openings are also available in human resources, administration, and communications.

The job openings support Webhelp’s rapid expansion in Portugal, including the opening of new offices in Braga and Parque das Nações in Lisbon. The company also has a presence in the northern town of Aveiro.

The intention is to bring staff headcount across Portugal to 3,000 within the next two years, the company said in a statement.

Commenting on the news, Carlos Moreira, CEO of Webhelp Portugal, said: “Webhelp’s rapid growth in Portugal will allow us to hire new employees throughout the year. In line with our investment strategy, we expect to continue creating jobs and to grow further in the country. As a highly innovative and technologically-focused business, Webhelp intends to attract the best talent from Portugal and across Europe.”

Lina Jesus, HR director at Webhelp Portugal, added that recruitment was related to new clients the company was planning to acquire over the summer.

“Unlike many other companies, who typically dial down recruitment during the summer, Webhelp expects a busy three months of recruitment to fill a wide range of roles”, she added.
