Hotel chain Yotel has announced plans to open its second location in Portugal in 2024 at Foz Vintage (FVC) Group’s Lisbon World Trade Centre (WTC).
The UK-based group, which claims to offer innovative experiences through smart design and creative technology, said the new 127-room hotel would also feature a restaurant, event space, panoramic rooftop bar, co-working space, and fitness centre.
Located in Carnaxide (Oeiras), the Lisbon WTC will be part of the World Trade Centre network, touted as the world’s largest business and investment platform with a presence in 90 countries. The 35,000 sq m campus will offer flexible, adaptable evolving spaces, encouraging collaboration, networking and productivity, FVC said.
Commenting on the new opening, Yotel chief development officer Rohan Thakkar said: “Lisbon has always been a priority for YOTEL’s expansion, particularly following the opening of YOTEL Porto last year. YOTEL Lisbon WTC will further our expansion strategy across Southern Europe, both within Portugal and nearby markets such as Spain and France”.
FVC Group COO Vasco Fonseca added: “YOTEL offers a concept perfectly aligned with our vision at WTC Lisbon, which gives priority, above all, to innovation and technology, sustainability and people’s well-being. Its auditorium will also serve as a stage for major events, in particular, to receive the schedule that we foresee for the WTC Business Club, which aims to be a space of choice for business networking and for the discussion of strategic themes for companies and projects, nationally and internationally”.
Major corporations as Worten, Bayer and Helm will also be based at the Lisbon WTC.
